Wondering what a “porch session” would look like? It’s really just a more encompassing way of saying “outside at your home”. These days, as we do all our sessions outdoors, we get that question more than ever before. Fortunately we’ve been shooting like this for many, many years so adapting to shooting primarily outdoors was a fairly easy transition for us! Fun, playful and a great way to capture the place you are in your lives at the place you call home. Plus it’s easy to get truly lifestyle images at the end - letting the kids do their favorite activities like bike riding or soccer playing or dress up… the options are endless and ADORABLE! We’ve been lucky to capture this gorgeous family since their oldest son was a newborn and look at how they’ve grown!

In these crazy times when it’s only ok to do sessions outdoors (and at a distance too), this shoot was a perfect example of how we have learned to roll with it while being very careful. This beautiful family has been with us since their eldest daughter Addison was born and Mama wanted to do a cozy studio style photo session for their darling newest addition, lil’ crawler baby Asher… but covid. So, instead, together we did a session outdoors and crafted a pop-up “outdoor” studio vibe - adorable AND safe! Everyone everywhere has had to adapt in these new circumstances and this is one way we have made it work - and man is it cute! This works great for any age - newborn, six months and 1 year and on.
